Video against Discrimination
Welcome to the project “10Fold III. Video against Discrimination”, an Erasmus+ cofunded project gathering Cap Ulysse — a training center in France — Orient Express — a NGO in Austria and Valerie Bruckbög, the comic artist.
It is the follow-up project of two previous and successful Erasmus+ projects which aim to connect basic education, second language acquisition, and inclusion through emancipatory approaches in non-formal Adult Education.

10Fold. Stories against Discrimination, a ComicZine drawn by the Austrian artist Valerie Bruckbög with ten biographical narratives and testimonials from protagonists who shared their experiences with violence and discrimination, but also their strategies to deal with them.

10Fold II. Didactics against Discrimination, which focused on the didactic and pedagogical use of these autobiographical narratives and comics.
Last but not least, 10Fold III. Video against Discrimination aims at strengthening the competences of trainers and widening the scope of learning materials providing videos related to the stories of 10Fold.
The materials are dedicated primarily to Adult Education Trainers and Adult Learners in language courses and basic skills programmes, especially educationally disadvantaged women with a migration background who face structural discrimination. The material is adapted for language levels A1-B1 of the CEFR. The objective is to boost learners' language skills, resilience, and social participation. We know that adult learners prefer learning materials that directly relate to their personal experiences and real-life situations, making these authentic stories a powerful foundation for dialogue on discrimination and inclusion.
The following results have been produced:

Eight videos, including five based on the ComicZine and three based on protagonist interviews, have been developed and are available in English, French and German;

Eight language activities have been produced, each one related to one video;

A Guidebook containing the language activities provides adult educators with flexible materials ready to be implemented with their learners with a migration background;

A Didactical video featuring testimonials from trainers give key information on potential use of videos in language classes;

An introductory video aims at presenting the project’s history and available results.
