I thought I would share some pics I took at the Vienna Artfair a few weeks back. We also stopped by the Albertina were we saw Matisse and the Fauves - gotta love the colours. I could see how many european comic artists are probably inspired by this kind of art. The exhibition of Helnwein was also worth its while even though you need a strong stomache.
At the artfair I found one piece I really loved. A wooden sculpture which was smooth in the front and had a lot of texture work on the back. I would love to know how the artist did it.
I also found a gigantic Tony Soprano while walking around. It was a good place to take a break and let all the visual inspiration sink in.
Listening to enthusiasts of the show trying to convince their friends how great it was (cause it is!) was kind of entertaining as well.
